April 12 // Craftsmanship and Construction: an artists’ book help session
Friday, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., ACA Library

  • Not sure if your artists’ book is competition ready? Get feedback on your artists’ books from Special Collections Librarian, Elliot McNally, before you enter it into the competition. Examples, how-to books, and materials will be on hand.


April 19 // Friday Finds, From the SCAN Archives: Celebrating 10 years
Friday, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., ACA Library

  • Visit the library to explore SCAN’s archive of past magazines and ephemera. SCAN staff will be on hand to share stories.


May 2 // 12th Annual Artists’ Book Symposium & Competition

  • Trois Gallery will become an interactive showcase of artists' book entries from this year's competition.

  • Viewers will be able to vote for their favorite book in the viewer's choice category.

  • Stick around for the awards ceremony where you will be able to meet the artists and hear them speak about their work. Light refreshments to follow.

  • Don't forget to check out the faculty work on display in the library.


May 3 // Make a Book, Take a Book: notebook making workshop
Friday, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Trois Gallery

  • Learn how to make notebooks using saddle stitch binding. Participants will make one book to keep for themselves and one book to donate to a local charity.  This is a drop in event—come de-stress and give back.


May 17 // Source & Cite like a Pro: resource & citation review workshop
Friday, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Room 413 in the ACA Library

  • Don’t let your resources and bibliography slip through the cracks! The ACA Library and Academic Resource network have teamed up to help you navigate choosing the best resources and citing them properly before your final thesis submission date.

April 19 // Creative Copyright: Finding and Using Images for Your Projects

  • Learn the basics of copyright law and fair use and how it applies to work in and out of the classroom. This workshop will discuss copyright myths, the areas of art and design that are covered by copyright (and those that are not) and how to seek free or inexpensive resources for your class projects and professional career. 


April 22 // Speed Date-a-basing

  • Find the research database you want to spend some more time with during your next project. You will have the ability to get to know 5 different databases in 30 minutes. Go home with a great date-a-base this Monday evening!


May 10 // Jailbreak! Explore an Historic Jail in Savannah
Friday, 2:00-3:30pm, Jen Library

  • Come and learn about the historic jail that was formerly planned to serve as the SCAD library in Savannah. Explore digital and physical primary source materials from the library special collections.  Participants can even hold a lock to a cell! (This workshop is limited to 25 students.
