Google Books

Unlike the Library Catalog, Google Books searches within the text  and can find references to specific artists, pieces, or exhibitions.  This will help you locate a possible resource that you may have missed in the Catalog.   When you've found a source, click on the "Library Search" link on the lefthand side to see if the book is located in SCAD Libraries.

Book Search Tips

  • Check the location, availability and call number before heading to the shelf
  • Not sure how to read a call number? Learn more by watching this video.
  • Books are organized by subject, so take time to browse the shelves. You might find something useful you didn't see in the catalog.
  • Get books from other SCAD locations or place a hold with the request service. Learn how here!

Looking for a Textbook?

If your professor has set aside required reading for your class, find it under Course Reserves. Reserve materials may not be removed from the Libraries. Look up Reserve materials below, write down the call number(s) and bring them to the service desk at any Library location.
