Collage Copyright Considerations Collage can be covered by fair use, but not all uses are fair use.  The more conditions below that are met, your work is less likely to infringe on copyright:  Collage incorporates many different materials from different sources.  Materials are arranged to create new visual and conceptual effects.  Dominant image or focus  is not under copyright.  Partial, unidentifiable materials:  entire images are not used.  Collage is a one-of-a-kind artwork or only reproduced in a limited edition.  Collage for non-commercial use. Collage does not compete in the same market as source material.  No trademarked material is incorporate (different laws apply).  library guidance, not legal advice.
