Graduate Research & Writing for M.F.A. Students

SCAD Libraries, Graduate Studies, and SCADextra are pleased to offer an asynchronous learning tool for all MFA students to support high-quality thesis and final project research. These modules are available in the Blackboard THES 007 community to all enrolled MFA students.

Students receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the asynchronous mini course. To access students' scores and completions, reach out to the THES 007 administrator.

To preview the modules, download the file below. If you would like more information, email library@scad.edu to set up an appointment with the global librarian.

Research Consultations

Do your students need additional individualized support for an assignment or course? Recommend research consultations for individuals or groups of students. Research consultations can be utilized at any stage of an assignment, and librarians are available to help students tackle common obstacles for any research assignment, including:

  • interpreting assignment instructions
  • selecting or refining a topic
  • developing research questions
  • identifying trustworthy resources
  • synthesizing information
  • locating high-quality images or reference material
  • finding accurate business data, demographic information, and statistics
  • organizing research findings
